COVID Policy (adopted Oct. 12, 2022)

Policy Regarding Response To COVID Pandemic

The following policy, effective October 12, 2022, will govern the response of the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees to the COVID Pandemic.  It is intended to assist in protecting the health and safety of Members and volunteers of Village Players, as well as members of the general public attending functions at the Playhouse.

  1. If a person wishes to help on a production in the role of a cast member or a member of the crew, such person must be vaccinated and fully boosted (if eligible).
  2. Other volunteers (ushers, concession workers, box office assistants or volunteers in the House) are not required, but are strongly encouraged, to be vaccinated and boosted.
  3. All volunteers are strongly encouraged, but not required, to mask while in the Playhouse.
  4. Any member of the cast or the crew of any production on the Playhouse stage will not be allowed to appear onstage or work backstage for a period of five days following a positive COVID test.
  5. Any member of the cast or the crew of any production on the Playhouse stage must wear a KN-95 or N-95 protective mask while on the Playhouse premises for the period from five days to ten days following a positive COVID test.
  6. If any member of the cast or the crew of any production on the Playhouse stage tests positive for a COVID virus within five days of a performance of the production, all other members of the cast and crew of that production must obtain a COVID test at least eight hours prior to the curtain time of the next scheduled performance of the production and must promptly advise the Producer and the Director of the Production of the results of that test.
  7. In the event that any member of the cast or crew of any production on the Playhouse stage does test positive for the COVID virus within ten days of a performance of the production, any other member of the cast will have the following options:
    • Elect to proceed to appear on stage.
    • Elect to appear on stage with a protective mask.
    • Elect to not appear on stage.
  8. The decision as to whether a performance will be cancelled because of any restrictions imposed on cast or crew members by operation of this policy will finally rest with the Production Team after consultation with the Presidents of both Boards.
